Birchmere Music Hall
Need 5 volunteers to arrive no later than 3:30pm at Strathmore!
(so far I have 2, maybe 4 volunteers — now need 5-6 because of the nearly 50 Society members and guests attending)
Also talked to Birchmere, they have about ~100 tix left, we have 4 left of our block of 50.
Moses will meet the volunteers there to have a tailgate late lunch, but the volunteers are there to get the early seating tickets so we can get the ~50 Society members and guests on a group table up close.
Of the ~50 attending, any volunteers to help lead jam songs?
Remember no lead sheets. Easy jam songs that can be done in 2 to 3 chords.
Also, don’t forget starting in November, we are back to Winter Schedule – meetings start an hour later.
Yep, This is the 8th time, over the 7 years in a row, that we’ve attended as a club and led jams before the main dining hall doors open. Group tickets generally go fast and are immediately available. RSVP even if you got your tickets elsewhere.
See ticket details at this link: https://www.birchmere.com/events/jake-shimabukuro/
Jams are completely open, very unplugged except for the leader leading a song or songs. We really try to keep it simple known songs so you can participate with just your uke and play by ear — 2 and 3 chord songs, unless it’s something like the do wop — ice cream parlor pattern (progression — hope you can sing in C or F — progression: C — Am — F — G7, simple fingering style).
Come join us and then attend the concert. Jake Shimabukuro is always a fantastic ukulele artist to listen and watch. Better when live!
