Event Type

Basic Description: Each Spring and Fall, North Gate Vineyard hosts The Northern Virginia Ukulele Society (NVUS) Jam Out. It is a camp out on the property to jam all night long. We usually start out in open mic format then end up in a song circle. Unless the weather is really sour, we are usually outside on the hard-pad.

Part of the Jam Out are some volunteers who organize the evening potluck for dinner, and the morning breakfast. There is a nominal fee paid directly to the lead organizer. Last several times this was less than $10 per person.

Also, the schedule events is listed below but may change as necessary.  Plan is still to conduct NVUS Primer and Group Lesson at Café Montmartre instead — we do not have access to North Gate Vineyard stage Sunday, April 8.

Too Cold Weather Plan (except snow) – potluck, workshop, open mic, jams, and breakfast will be indoors.  Camping is still outside (of course).

Hope to see you there at this really fun, sing all night ukulele jams!

  1. Sorry but snow is now in the forecast for this weekend and likelihood of it in Leesburg/Purceville is better than average. So, canceling/postponing. Will send update in newsletter, too (hopefully, tonight)

    • Thanks, Moses. Predictions now say 2 to 12 inches of snow for Saturday. Hope to see you when it’s rescheduled.

      • Thanks… going to work on the reschedule. Because Spring is unusually late, Spring Camp and Jams might not occur until June.

  2. I will be bringing a Quinoa salad and cookies. So we need a couple of entrees and some more sides and desserts, and non-alcoholic drinks (remember Moses likes Diet Coke).

  3. Another don’t forget: Potluck on Saturday evening. Please coordinate with Sandy O’Shea so we don’t have tons of chicken with no sides or desserts.

  4. Don’t forget the $10 is the suggested donation to Sandy O’Shea so she can get the supplies needed for the Potluck and Breakfast. Some should go to both the O’Shea’s and Owsenek for their gas grill supplies.

And don’t forget that North Gate Vineyard is one of our sponsors — on site and during an NVUS event, wine tasting is free and all bottle purchases are 10% off.
